Zoological Collection of Federal University of Goiás - ZUFG

The ZUFG is associated with the Ecology Department of the Federal University of Goiás (DECOL-UFG) and began in the 1970s, undergoing a major expansion in 2005/2006 (projects approved by FINEP and CAPES) when it acquired specific spaces for the maintenance of vertebrate and invertebrate collections, both wet and dry. Currently, the ZUFG is already a regional reference (for Cerrado fauna). The main objective of the collection is to expand the knowledge of Brazilian biodiversity. It currently contains an important number of records of specimens, audios and photographs from all states of the Central region of Brazil (as detailed in the table below). The collections are expanding and are increasingly important for scientific research and the dissemination of knowledge about the biodiversity of the Cerrado. If you are interested in having more information on the specimens for scientific studies, please contact those responsible for the collection.
